¡ºHe Is Alive¡»"Raising children to be like their father"
(No. 7) Feb. 27, 1952, Dong-A Daily

Moderator: Mrs. An, if there is no hope for his return, what will you do?

Mrs. An (Kim Bu-rye): I don¡¯t know. I have no idea.

Mrs. Lee (Lee Dal-nam): We should keep our hope alive. I believe he will come back.

Mrs. Park (Yu Song-juk): There¡¯s a saying, ¡°If you believe strongly in something, don't be afraid to fight for it.¡± Like this saying, I will keep my faith that he will return, and I will continue waiting for him as I raise my four kids to become like their father.

Mrs. Son (Yeon Kyeong-hwa): I am a mother of six children, and I will be their father, too. This life is difficult and challenging, but I will focus on making a living for my children and educating them well. This is what I pray for to God every morning. I believe my husband will come back. I will wait for him until I die

Mrs. Gang (Park Ok-chul): Until he comes back, I will do my best to raise our kids well.

Mrs. Hyeon (Baek Suk-ryang): I will fight till the end to bring peace to my country and the world.

Mrs. Yang (Yang Me-rin): I have faith in him. He will return. It might take some time, but I will never give up hope.

Mrs. Gu (Park In-suk): As I said in the beginning, I blame the bad timing. If only he had not been on standby¡¦

Mrs. Park (Kim Yeong-ae): Even just hearing that breaks my heart. Like Solveig's song, I will wait for him even if I have to wait for ten or twenty years.

Moderator: Like Mrs. Park said, don't be afraid to fight for something that you believe strongly in. I believe your faith will make your wish come true. Thank you for sharing your stories. What you've told us today is what the mothers, sisters, and wives of this country have in their minds. For those wives and mothers suffering pain and hardship, we should hold ourselves and be strong. I hope your earnest wishes will come true. Thank you.
