A petition that calls for the release of patriots abducted during the Korean War and has been undertaken by the Association of Families of Persons Kidnapped at the time of June 25th Incident (KWAFA, lead by president Jang Ki Bin) was submitted to the National Assembly by Assemblyman Kwak Sang Hoon and two others on the 10th of this month. The Foreign Affairs Committee, recognizing the validity of the petition, attached their opinions to it and sent it to the government. On the 22nd, they reported on it at the regular session. Meanwhile at the National Assembly, a list of names of abductees and the petition were also forwarded to Lee Hyeong Geun, South Korea’s armistice negotiations representative to the UN forces at Panmun-jeom.
