[Panmunjeom - Jan. 3 - with AP reporting] On the 3rd, the UN side’s representative said they gave the Communist side a list of 55 foreigners they are sure are being detained by Communist forces. On the list are 25 people from France, 13 from the US, nine from the UK, four from Ireland, two from Belgium, and one each from Australia and Austria; 38 of them are missionaries.
The Communist side did not admit having detained those on the list but stated they would investigate and report back to the UN side. At the meeting on the 3rd, the UN side was unable to get additional information about the 52,000 UN soldiers held as POWs by the Communist forces.
